David G. Bantoe - Councilman Upper Darby Township 6th District., Chair-Public Safety Committee and Community Organizer

Husband, father of 4 and long-time resident of Upper Darby, David was born and raised in Liberia, West Africa. He immigrated to the United States of America in March of 1998 as a refugee through the United Nations High Commission for Refugee Family Resettlement program, to join his mother and siblings. Prior to his immigration to the USA, David lived in a refugee camp in Ghana, West Africa for about 7 years, after he fled his homeland, Liberia, due to the 14-year civil war. Councilperson Bantoe has been a resident of Delaware County since, specifically Upper Darby. He met his wife in Summer of 2000, they married in 2004 and soon after they purchased their home in the Stonehurst Hills neighborhood of Upper Darby Township to raise and educate their four wonderful children.

• Proud member of Christ Lutheran Community Church, two terms council member and Chair -Global Mission Committee 
• Member-Upper Darby Democrats Leadership Committee
• Delaware County Election Bureau as Judge of election (precinct 6-5) for four consecutive election cycles
• Volunteered to campaign and knock doors for Governor, Senators, local candidate races since 2011. My love for politics kicked off from this point onward. 
• Started a pilot youth network group for the Rural Liberia Community Empowerment Program (The Multicultural Youth Development Initiative of Delco) 
• Co-Founder, Stonehurst Hills Community Association- community based civic organization, dedicated to serving the needs of Stonehurst Hills residents and community beautification initiative.
