What: Aqua Pennsylvania Water Main Replacement
When: September 15, 2025, between 7am-3pm
Where: Overhill Rd between Chestnut St and Walnut St, Chatham Rd between Chestnut St and Walnut St, Kent Rd between Chestnut St and Sansom St, Heather Rd between Chestnut St and Walnut St, Sansom St between Heather Rd and Kent Rd, Copley Rd between Market St and Ludlow St in Upper Darby Township.
Details: Aqua Pennsylvania will begin the replacement of 4,600 feet of water main. The $1,500,000 project is part of our continuing infrastructure improvement program that replaced more than 19 miles of aging main in Delaware County in 2024 to improve service reliability for customers. The new water main will reduce the potential for main breaks, discolored water and improve water flow in the area
During construction, access will be provided for emergencies, mail, and trash service. Residents will have access to their properties, but at times they may need to enter from different directions due to changing work zones.
It is important to note the trench will be covered with temporary blacktop at the end of each workday with restoration anticipated Spring 2026. We will notify customers ahead of any planned water service interruptions and will provide 24-hour advance notice for any scheduled interruption greater than 30 minutes.
