Upper Darby High School Students Visit Municipal Building

Upper Darby High SchooStudents Visit the Municipal Building

On Friday, May 15th, a group of students, as well as faculty, and support staff from Upper Darby High School visited the Township Municipal Building.

The group met in stations with Mayor Ed Brown, and the Upper Darby Police and Fire Department. They also took a tour of the building.

Mayor Brown discussed his role and day-to-day duties as Mayor. Additionally, he took questions from the students about what is hardest and easiest about being a mayor. Mayor Brown also discussed how he balances his busy schedule.

UDFD Deputy Fire Chief John Calamia as well as Captain Mike McKenzie, and Firefighter Justin Abraham, gave out great fire safety instructions and important reminders and illustrations. Fire Chief Nick Martin and Assistant Fire Chief Robert Callahan were also on hand.

The students also spoke to Upper Darby Police Captain Stephen Oreskovic and Officer A.J. Bateman, and his faithful sidekick, K-9 Radar. The students learned about what a police officer does daily and when to approach an officer when he is working. Radar was a huge hit and as usual made everybody smile.
