Mayor Brown Announces Move with the Mayor Spring Mental Health and Physical Activity Challenge
Mayor Brown is proud to announce Upper Darby Township’s continued participation in the nationwide initiative to raise awareness about the important role social connection plays in promoting mental and physical health. In partnership with the National Forum for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention, Upper Darby Township is joining the Move with the Mayor® (MWTM) Spring Mental Health and Physical Activity Challenge.
The month-long challenge begins May 1 and coincides with Mental Health Awareness Month. The initiative encourages residents to improve both mental and physical health through daily movement and meaningful social connection.
Mayor Brown invites residents of all ages to participate throughout May by taking part in activities such as biking, walking, meditation, yoga, and more. Participants are also encouraged to share their experiences and support one another on social media using #MoveWithTheMayor.
“Physical activity combined with social connection is good for our hearts and minds,” Mayor Brown said. “Together, they can help us cope with anxiety, depression, stress, and other mental health challenges. I invite all Upper Darby residents to commit to moving more and connecting more with our community.”
