Highland Park Fire Company Chief, Robert J. Adams Passing
The Upper Darby Township Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of Highland Park Fire Company Chief, Robert J. Adams, who was also lovingly known as "Bubba."
To say that Chief Adams was a cornerstone of our department would be an understatement. Chief Adams served the community of Upper Darby for over three decades. He rose through the rank of Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief, and then District Chief of the Highland Park Fire Company. His knowledge, expertise, and wisdom not only showed on the fire grounds, but also when it came to performing rescue work. Chief Adams helped guide many young firefighters to a successful career in the fire department.
Bubba was also known to always have a smile on his face, and to light up a room whenever he entered. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy will be carried on.
We send our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones that Bubba leaves behind.
Relatives and friends are invited to Bubba’s viewing on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by the funeral service from 11:30 AM, both at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA. Interment private.
