Drexel Hill Little League Honors Jackie Robinson and Negro Leagues
On Friday, April 17th, Drexel Hill Little League will observe our annual Jackie Robinson Night. This will be in line with the effort put forth by Major League Baseball every April 15 to honor the man who broke baseball’s color barrier.
The games will be played at The Dermond Recreation Complex , between Old Lane and Foss Ave in Drexel Hill, Pa.
DHLL will have two games starting at 5:30pm with a third game starting at 8pm. Each game will last no more than two hours. At the conclusion of the first game, a small ceremony will take place.
The 12u teams participating will wear jerseys that sport the #42 to honor Jackie Robinson and they will also pay homage to the Negro Leagues. The special uniforms have been procured through the help of special donors: local African American business owners.
