International Transgender Day of Visibility Flag Raising in Upper Darby Township
Tuesday, March 31, 2026, is recognized as International Transgender Day of Visibility.
For the fourth year Upper Darby Township honored the day by raising the Transgender Flag in front of the Municipal Building.
Councilperson Kyle McIntyre spoke to the assembled crowd as the flag was raised. Among the topics he touched on were how critical it is to recognize groups that are marginalized in society and the challenges those people go through daily.
The first International Transgender Day of Visibility was held in 2009 and has been spearheaded by the youth advocacy organization, Tans Student Educational Resources.
