Code Blue in Effect for March 23-24, 2026

Code Blue Shelter at The Watkins Center

Upper Darby, PA- Delaware County has issued a Code Blue notification for excessive overnight cold temperatures, Monday, March 23 through Tuesday, March 24.  

In response, Upper Darby Mayor Ed Brown announces that the Township, in partnership with Breaking Bread Community Shelter of Upper Darby, will provide shelter from Monday, March 23, 7PM, through Tuesday, March 24, 7AM.

Shelter Hours:

-Monday, March 23, 7PM, though, Tuesday, March 24, 7AM

 The Watkins Center will function as a code blue shelter until Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 7AM.

Capacity for the shelter is 30 individuals per night.
