Upper Darby Township Firefighter Swear In
The Upper Darby Fire Department welcomed three new members on Friday, January 30, 2026.
Mayor Ed Brown swore in Joshua Mason, Zachary Litwin, and Kestin Wiemer as Probationary Firefighters.
All three have completed a career fire department training academy and have previously worked as career firefighters. They will complete internal department training prior to being assigned to work in one of the career staffed fire companies.
Joshua Mason is 26 years old and a resident of Delaware County. He is currently a firefighter for the City of Chester and has worked there for 4 years. Joshua completed Wilmington (DE) Fire Department’s 42nd training academy and is an EMT. He is a second-generation fire fighter.
Zachary Litwin is 31 years old and a resident of Bucks County. He is currently a firefighter for the Arlington County Fire Department and has worked there for 2.5 years. Zachary completed the Arlington County Fire Department’s training academy in 2023 and is an EMT. He served in the United States Army for 4 years.
Kestin Wiemer is 33 years old and a resident of Delaware County. He currently leads the Delaware County Technical School for fire and EMS as an Educator. Kestin completed the Arlington County Fire Department’s training academy in 2017 and worked there as an FF / EMT for 1.5 years.
