Code Blue Shelter Alert

Code Blue for January 20-24, 2026 

Upper Darby, PA- Delaware County has issued a Code Blue notification for excessive cold temperatures from January 20, 2026, through January 24, 2026. 

In response, Upper Darby Mayor Ed Brown announces that the Township, in partnership with Breaking Bread Community Shelter of Upper Darby, will provide overnight shelter for individuals for the following times and dates: 

7PM, Tuesday, January 20 until 7AM, Wednesday, January 21 

7PM, Wednesday, January 21 until 7AM, Thursday, January 22 

7PM, Thursday, January 22 until 7AM, Friday, January 23 

7PM, Friday, January 23 until 7AM, Saturday, January 24

Upper Darby, PA 19082 

Capacity for the shelter is 30 individuals per night.
