Black History Month Poetry Contest

Upper Darby Township Council Community Engagement Committee 
presents its annual Black History Month Poetry Contest 
 
The Contest is open to Upper Darby 4th & 5th Grade Students. Poems need to be original and about a person or event that has made an impact on your life. 
 
Winners will read their poems at the February 18, 2026, council Meeting at 7 pm In the township Council room  
 
1st prize $75 gift card 
2nd prize $50 gift card  
3rd prize $25 gift card 
 
Please submit poems to cdoggett@upperdarby.org by February 2, 2026 

Winners will be notified by February 11, 2026
