The Upper Darby "Revive & Thrive" Parks Initiative is a Township project, funded by a 2025 capital budget plan, aimed at improving playgrounds in up to 10 local parks in the Township.
The initiative focuses on community input and holding meetings to receive feedback to determine equipment preferences.
Community input meetings were held in the summer of 2025.
Phase 1 demolition and construction led by the Upper Darby Public Works Department began in the winter of 2025 for 69th St. Recreation Area, Naylors Run Park, and Drexel Garden Playgrounds.
At 69th St. Playground (559 S. 69th Street, Upper Darby, Pa) the jungle gym and both the traditional and shell swings were replaced, and we added an obstacle course equipment per the community's input. (website link with photos)
