Delco Alert - 5/27/22

Hi, this is Mayor Barbarann Keffer with an important update for our Upper Darby community:

COVID transmission is rising again in Delaware County. As a reminder, the testing trailer is still located in Municipal Lot #1 across the street from the Township Building. The site offers free testing on Mondays and Wednesdays 9-5pm, Tuesdays and Thursday 9-6pm, and Fridays 9-3:30pm. You can visit testpa.online to schedule a test. 

There is a forecasted chance of strong thunderstorms with high winds and possible flash flooding throughout the afternoon and evening. Remember to use caution especially when traveling. 

As a friendly reminder, this coming Monday, May 30th is Memorial Day and trash and recycling will not be collected. Monday’s trash and recycling will be picked up on Wednesday. Wednesday’s recycling for Area 1 will be collected on Friday and Area 2 will be collected on Tuesday. Thursday’s schedule remains unchanged. For more information visit our website upperdarby.org. 

The deadline to pay your 2022 Township Real Estate Tax and/or the 2022 Sewer and Trash fees is this Tuesday, May 31st. Please pay your bill by this date to avoid the 10% penalty. Please mail your payment to 100 Garrett Road; Upper Darby, PA 19082. Payments postmarked by May 31st will receive no penalty.

Finally, registration is still open for Summer Stage Children’s Theater! Students finishing grades 8th through 11th are eligible to participate. No auditions are required so if you love to perform now is a great time to sign up because Upper Darby Township will cover the registration fee for all UDT residents. Register at udfoundation.org.
