Delco Alert - December 29, 2021

Hello, this is Mayor Barbarann Keffer with some updates for the Upper Darby Community.

We are seeing a surge of COVID-19 cases in our area due to the Omicron variant. The best way to protect yourself is to get vaccinated, wear a mask, and stay home if you are feeling sick. My administration and I want to ensure that we are taking all necessary steps to safeguard the health and safety of our community and our employees. To that end, the township building will be closed to the public until further notice. In addition, the Watkins Senior Center will be closed through the month of January.

We will continue to serve our community during this time. Permit applications, tax payments, and ticket payments can be dropped off from 9:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday, at the Upper Darby Township building vestibule at 100 Garrett Road, Upper Darby, PA 19082. All forms are available at the Chestnut Street entrance for pick up. Additionally, tickets and permit fees can be paid online at

If you need an appointment with our Licenses and Inspections department, you can call them at 610-734-7613 or email If you need to reach the Tax Office please call: 610-734-7603. Please call the request line at 610-734-7625 with any questions or to submit a request. Please be aware that the Township will be closed on Friday, December 31st for the holiday. Thank you for your patience and understanding as our community navigates through this time together.

There are multiple opportunities to get vaccinated in Upper Darby. There will be another vaccine clinic on Friday, January 14th from 2pm to 7pm at Watkins Senior Center. Sign up at There are also vaccine distribution events every Thursday in January from 4pm to 7pm at 69th Street Terminal. No appointment is required.

Finally, I want to let residents know that Christmas tree collection will be the weeks of January 10th and January 18th. Please put your tree out the same day your recycling is collected. All christmas trees need to be cleaned. That means no christmas ornaments, no decorations, and no plastic bags or coverings.

Thank you and this is Mayor Barbarann Keffer wishing you a Happy and healthy New Year.
