Delco Alert - Identity Theft Prevention Event Location Change

Hello, this is Mayor Barbarann Keffer with some important updates for the Upper Darby community:

This Saturday, May 8th, Upper Darby residents are invited to bring confidential shredding materials and E-waste, such as unwanted laptops, cell phones, and other personal devices, to our Identity Theft Protection Event at Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Prendergast High School. Please note that this is a LOCATION CHANGE. Again, the Shred Event will take place at Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Prendergast High School at 403 N. Lansdowne Avenue. We are very grateful to Bonner-Prendie for accommodating this event on such short notice.

The Identity Theft protection event will start at 9 a.m. and go until 12 p.m. or when the trucks are full. Per COVID-19 safety protocols, please stay six feet apart from others and wear a mask at all times. There is a limit of two boxes of paper shredding materials per vehicle. Please note that we are not able to accept televisions at this event. This event is limited to Upper Darby township residents and we ask that you be prepared to show proof of residency.

We are now hiring for full time seasonal positions in Public Works. Please visit to complete an application online or pick up a paper application at the Township Building, 100 Garrett Road, between 9 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We also have full and part time positions available in several other departments. Please visit for additional information, email, or call the Mayor’s Request Line at 610-734-7625.

Governor Tom Wolf has announced that once Pennsylvania reaches a 70% vaccination rate among adults, the COVID-19 mask mandate will be lifted. It is vitally important that everyone gets vaccinated as soon as possible so that we can get back to life without masks. If you have not yet received the COVID-19 vaccine, please call 484-276-2100 or visit to register for an appointment. If you need to schedule an appointment and are having any difficulty doing so, please email or call 610-734-7625. We are all in this together, and we are here to help. This is Mayor Barbarann Keffer, wishing you a good evening.
