Assistant Director of Licenses and Inspections
This position is responsible for coordinating the Township’s current and long-range planning functions, including land use management, zoning and development review, historic preservation, and geographic information systems. Technical and administrative work managing the Department Licenses & Inspections and Zoning. Administers community planning programs in accordance with the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance and assists with the enforcement of the Zoning Ordinances. Principal staff liaison to the Township Planning Committee.
Work involves responsibility for the safe and effective enforcement of Township’s Home Rule Community’s codes, related ordinances, and regulations. Duties include Licenses’ & Inspections’ Department administration, reviewing building codes, zoning, permits, licenses, plan reviews and land use work involving the administration of all construction plans, subdivision, zoning, housing and land use codes, related ordinances, regulations. This position also has the responsibility for making difficult building inspection operations and administration decisions. This work requires that the employee have considerable knowledge, skill and ability in building inspection operations, administration and a thorough knowledge of all rules and regulations promulgated under PA’s Uniform Construction Code (UCC).

Under general supervision, performs a variety of technical duties in support of The Township’s local code enforcement program; monitors and enforces a variety of applicable ordinances, codes, and regulations related to zoning, land use, nuisance housing, building codes, health and safety, blight, graffiti, water waste, and other matters of public concern; and serves as a resource and provides information on Township regulations to property owners, residents, businesses, the general public, and other Township departments and divisions.
