Delco Alert - June 30, 2020

Hello, this is Mayor Barbarann Keffer with some messages for our Upper Darby Township community.

This Friday, July 3rd is a Township Holiday. There will be no trash or recycling on Friday and all Township offices will be closed.

A quick reminder that setting off consumer fireworks is prohibited in Upper Darby Township. The noise is really upsetting to pets and to people suffering from PTSD including combat veterans. They are also a fire and public safety hazard. Please be considerate of your neighbors.

On Monday, July 6th our L&I will begin to roll out our new ticketing system for code and property maintenance violations. The goal of this system is to get more property owners into compliance sooner. Some of the things which we will be on the look-out for include:

  • All trash should be contained in trash cans with lids
  • Grass is not too high and shrubbery does not extend over the right-of-way
  • Discarded mattresses are wrapped in bags
  • House numbers are visible in the front (and the back if there is a shared driveway)
  • Monday, July 6, also starts twice-a-week trash pick-up.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, July 1st, Council will hold its monthly committee meeting. Details on how to view the meeting are on the township website.

This is Mayor Barbarann Keffer wishing you a happy and safe 4th of July.
