Storm Update

You are here

The Winter Storm Riley that hit the area last weekend was one of the strongest storms to hit our area in several years. PECO continues work to restore power in the area. The combination of high winds, down trees and electric poles, and blocked highways made it very hard for the PECO crews to accomplish their restoration work. Township Parks and Public Works crews worked Friday Saturday and Sunday. While I applaud the work and efforts of PECO and Township crews over the weekend, the destruction caused by storm Riley will be with us for many more days.

I know many households were without power for more than 48 hours. We are putting on the Township Facebook and Web page information associated with when after a loss of power should food be discarded.

If you have food to be thrown away, please call 610.734.7625, give us your name , address and phone number and we will make a special trash run on Wednesday March 7 to your residential property to pick up spoiled food. Please remember this trash run is only for spoiled food.

We will have a special trash pickup on Saturday March 10 for tree branches and limbs. Branches should be bundled and tied; bundles should be no more than 36 inches long and tree branches should be no more than 4 inches in diameter The tree branches and limbs must be at the your normal trash line.
