Community Walk with K9 Radar

“WALK WITH RADAR” is a family friendly community event, organized by the Upper Darby Police & Recreation Departments, to promote social interactions & physical activity.

Join K9 Radar, Officer Bateman of the Community Affairs Unit, and members of the Recreation Department on an approximate 2 mile walk along the Darby Creek Trail from Gillespie Park to Kent County Park and back to Gillespie.

Radar isn’t your typical K9 officer, he is a facility dog. He has been specifically trained to be a bridge to the community and to help calm and comfort those in need. Radar keeps busy by providing in-house stress reduction for officers, easing the trauma of crime victims or witnesses, taking part in mentoring programs, summer camps and community engagement events.

Please Do:

• Bring a water bottle
• Wear comfortable walking shoes
• Say hi to and pet Radar
• Chat with other community members

Please Don’t:

• Bring your pet. (Although we love your pets, we ask that you please leave them at home for this event)
• Feed Radar
