2013 Fire Prevention Parade

October 6th, 2013. 1:00pm

You are invited to attend our annual Fire Prevention Parade to kick off Fire Prevention Week. The parade will take place on October 6, 2013 at 1:00pm. The parade will begin at Drexel Hill Middle School located on State Road in Drexel Hill, Pa. and end at Aronimink Elementary School which is located at Burmont Road and Bond Avenue. This year’s parade will have a special dedication to Frank Russell, past Chief and President of the Primos-Secane Westbrook Park Fire Company, Station #74. As in years past, the parade is also dedicated to all firefighters from Upper Darby Township both volunteer and career.

Upon arriving at the Aronimink School, there will be guest speakers, award presentations and fire prevention demonstrations. Awards will also be presented to the winners of the Fire Prevention Poster contest. This year’s Fire Prevention theme is “Let’s Get Cookin’ with Fire Safety”. The contestants are from all elementary schools in Upper Darby Township. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Upper Darby High School Marching Band, The Drexel Hill Middle School Marching Band, the Beverly Hills Middle School Marching band and the Greater Overbrook String Band.

In the event of rain, a rain date has been scheduled for October 12, 2013 at the Upper Darby High School. The activities will be in conjunction with the Upper Darby Community Festival Day.
