MOSQUITO SPRAYING SET FOR DREXEL HILL ON SEPT. 10

Upper Darby Township was informed the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protectionís West Nile Virus control program in conjunction with the Delaware County Department of Intercommunity Health will conduct an Ultra Low Volume mosquito adulticide spray in your area. The target area are streets located within the section from Township Line to Lansdowne Avenue, down Lansdowne Avenue to Garrett Road, Garrett Road to Drexel Avenue, and Drexel Avenue back to Township Line Road. Residential and recreational areas within this treatment area will be sprayed to control adult mosquitoes. The spraying will take place in the evening hours of Monday September 10, 2012, provided that weather and environmental conditions remain suitable. If weather conditions or other unexpected events cancel or delay the spray operation, the rain date is scheduled for the following night. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection will perform the work using truck mounted spraying equipment with the business license BU2626 visible on the equipment. Treatment will begin at 7:30 pm and finish by 10:00 pm. The product used will be Duet and is not harmful to humans unless handled directly.

Residents can do their part by emptying out containers with standing/stagnant water and drill holes in the bottom of recycling/trash containers left outside.
