Each
year more than 50,000 audience members

Upper Darby Performing Arts Center,
located at Lansdowne Avenue and School
Lane in Upper Darby.
With seating for 1,650 persons, the
center is an exceptional performance
facility ideally suited to musical, dance
and theatrical productions.
The uniqueness of the Performing Arts
Center is further accented by its diverse
programs and an involvement by people of
all ages that is a model for communities
across the nation. To join the Performing

Upper
Darby Summer
Stage
Since 1976 Summer Stage has
involved more than 500 young people
each summer in the production of
children's shows and Broadway musicals.
Participants are directed by a staff of
professional artists and teachers and
performances are attended by more than
24,000 each season.
Professional
Performances
The center hosts a wide variety
of professional artists each season.
Past performances have included The
Philadelphia Orchestra, Maynard
Ferguson, The Peking Acrobats, an
annual performance of The Nutcracker
and many more.
Youth
Performances
Young audiences are also at the
core of our mission. In fact, during
the past season, the Performing Arts
Center presented 43 children's or
family performances, more than any arts
organization in Delaware County.
Local Arts
Groups
The center presents local
organizations such as The Lansdowne
Symphony, The Philadelphia Youth
Orchestra, The Delaware County Youth
Orchestra and its junior chamber
ensemble as well as the musical groups
of Upper Darby High School.
International
Events
More than 50 nationalities are
represented in our community and each
year several performances are dedicated
to celebrating this diversity and
developing understanding among the many
cultures. The most successful of these
is The International Bazaar which
presents crafts, food and music and
dance from up to 30 nations each year.
