ARTICLE V:
(Sections 5.26 - 5.28)
Department of Public
Health
Section 5.26 -
Function
The Department of Public Health
shall be responsible for protecting and
preserving the public health of the
Township.
Section 5.27 -
Department Head
The Department of Public Health shall be
headed by a Director who shall be Health
Officer and who shall responsible to the
Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer for
the performance of the function of the
department.
Section 5.28 -
Duties
The duties of the Administrative
Director shall be to:

A.

Conduct disease control and
immunization programs;
|
|
B.
|
Provide environmental health
programs including food, housing,
plumbing, and water control;
|
|
C.
|
Provide health education
programs;
|
|
D.
|
Provide health care planning,
evaluation, and research
programs;
|
|
E.
|
Provide laboratory services
necessary to the work of the
department;
|
|
F.
|
Enforce all laws, ordinances,
and resolutions pertaining to the
public health;
|
|
G.
|
Ensure the abatement of all
nuisances detrimental to the
public health;
|
|
H.
|
Enforce the rules and
regulations relating to the
reporting and examination of
cases in which a dog or other
animal bites a human;
|
|
I.
|
Seize and arrange for the
detention of dogs running at
large upon public property within
the Township;
|
|
J.
|
Cooperate with other public or
private agencies working in the
field of public health to assure
that all necessary measures,
utilizing all available
resources, are being taken to
safeguard the public health;
and
|
|
K.
|
Maintain records pertaining to
births, deaths, disease and
related matters as may be
required by law or ordinance or
that may be deemed necessary for
the effective operation of the
department.
