The weather continues to take center stage. The forecast is for an additional 3-5 inches of snow overnight. The township staff continues snow removal operation.
Today, Thursday February 13, 2014, weather conditions forced Upper Darby Township to suspend the normal Thursday recycling and trash collection till next Thursday. . Tomorrow Friday February 14, 2014 the Township sanitation staff will attempt to collect trash from the scheduled routes.
If we are successful with trash pick-up we will attempt to collect the recycling from the routes scheduled for Friday February 14, 2014. Please note that this week and next week the Township is operating on the President Holiday trash and recycling schedule. We ask residents that do not have their recycling picked up this week to hold it till next week. The specific locations for the impacted areas can be found on the Township’s web site or on the trash calendar. Please understand that some alleyways scheduled for trash pick-up may not be passable and we will not be able to pick up the trash in these locations.
Please remember that every reasonable attempt should be made to clear your sidewalk of snow, once the snow has stopped. Contractors are reminded that when clearing commercial parking lots they should not push the snow into the highway. This is dangerous and illegal.
Emergency situations should be reported to the police and fire by calling 911.
At this point usual problems or concerns can be made to 610.734.7625
