The Upper Darby School District Day Care Program is a before and after school program licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Public Welfare. The priority of the program is the health and welfare of the participants. The goal is to provide wholesome activities in a safe, structured environment.
The Day Care Program serves the children of Upper Darby School District in eight elementary schools. The children range in grades from Kindergarten thru 5th Grade. The Program is held at Aronimink, Bywood, Garrettford, Highland Park, Hillcrest, Stonehurst Hills, Westbrook Park elementary schools, and the Kindergarten Center. The before school program is from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and the after school program is from any dismissal time until 6 p.m. The Kindergarten center offers care from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The morning program offers quiet passive activities prior to the children going to their classrooms. The after school program offers homework supervision, snack time, outdoor playtime, crafts and indoor activities. On school holidays full day care is offered but children must be preregistered.
The Day Care Program requires registration and a deposit before any child can participate. At any time, parents can call to see if space is available at any of the Day care locations.
